Accessibility Statement

InceptiCode is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who navigate with a keyboard, use a screen reader, magnify the page, or rely on sufficient colour contrast. This statement describes what has actually been done and tested, not what is intended.

Standard targeted

This website is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. WCAG 2.2 AA includes everything in WCAG 2.0 AA, which is the standard referenced by the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

How it is tested

Testing runs before every deployment and consists of two parts:

Automated scanning with axe-core against WCAG 2.1 and 2.2, levels A and AA, across every page template, at both desktop and mobile widths, and in the states a visitor actually creates — menus open, form errors displayed and accordion panels expanded.
A manual keyboard-only pass through the real journeys: site navigation, the mobile menu, the enquiry forms, and every expandable element.

At the most recent run, the automated scan reported zero issues at any severity across all of them. The test script is kept in the website's source repository and is run as part of the release process rather than occasionally.

What has been built in

Semantic headings in order, with landmark regions and a skip link.
Every form field associated with a visible label, and errors announced rather than only coloured.
Visible focus indicators on every interactive element, never removed for aesthetics.
Colour contrast meeting or exceeding 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and interface elements.
Descriptive alternative text on images that carry meaning, and deliberately empty alt attributes on decorative ones.
Full keyboard operability, including the mobile menu and every disclosure element.
Motion respecting the operating system's reduced-motion preference.
No accessibility overlay or widget, deliberately — overlays are not a substitute for accessible markup.

Known limitations

Automated testing detects only part of what matters, generally estimated at between a third and a half of real barriers, and no amount of tooling substitutes for feedback from people using assistive technology day to day. This site has not been through a formal audit by a third-party accessibility organisation, and no such audit is claimed.

Case-study pages link to client websites that InceptiCode does not control. Those sites are outside the scope of this statement, and their accessibility is the responsibility of the organisations that own them.

Describe the page and what happened — we do not need technical detail. We normally reply within one business day. We will tell you what we found and what we are doing about it, and if something can be fixed quickly we will fix it and let you know when it is live.
