Privacy Policy
This document accurately describes what this website does with your information — it is written from the actual implementation, not copied from a template. It has not been reviewed by a qualified Canadian privacy lawyer, and it does not yet satisfy every obligation under PIPEDA or Quebec's Law 25 (which requires a named, contactable privacy officer). It must be reviewed and dated before this site handles production traffic.
Who we are
InceptiCode, a web design and development business operating in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. You can reach us at [email protected] or +1 647 691 5063.
What we collect, and why
Information you give us
When you submit the estimate form on this website, we collect:
- Your name and, optionally, your business name
- Your email address and phone number
- Your preferred contact method
- The type of project you selected and the description you wrote
- An optional budget range, if you chose one
We use this solely to respond to your enquiry and to quote your project. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not run an automated follow-up sequence, and we do not sell, rent or share this information with third parties for their own marketing.
Information collected automatically
Alongside your submission we record:
- Which page the form was submitted from
-
How you arrived at the site — the referring website, and any campaign parameters
in the URL (
utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaign) or advertising click identifiers (gclidand similar) - The time of submission and your browser's user-agent string
- A one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address. We keep the hash rather than the address itself: it lets us rate-limit abuse without storing a value that identifies you.
This tells us which of our advertising and search activity actually produces enquiries. It is not used to build a profile of you.
Analytics and advertising
This site uses Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the site is used in aggregate — which pages people read, where they leave, and which sources produce enquiries. We also record Google Ads conversion events when a form is submitted, so we can tell which advertising is worth continuing.
Google acts as a data processor for this and sets its own cookies. Google's handling of that data is governed by its own privacy policy, which we do not control.
Storage on your device. This site stores your traffic source in your browser's local storage for up to 90 days, so that if you return later and then submit the form we can still attribute the enquiry correctly. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Where your information is kept
Form submissions are stored on the server that hosts this website and emailed to us. Analytics data is held by Google on its own infrastructure, which is located outside Canada.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as we may reasonably need them for the business relationship — including quotes that did not proceed, since businesses frequently come back a year later. If you would like your enquiry deleted, ask us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your information
- Explain how it was used
Email [email protected] and we will respond. There is no charge for this.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are validated and rate-limited on the server, and stored outside the publicly-accessible web directory. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise — but we do not collect payment details or sensitive personal information through this website at all.
Children
This is a business-to-business website. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change how this site handles your information, we will update this page. The date at the top will reflect when it was last reviewed.
