Toronto & the GTA

Redesign your website without losing your rankings

Most redesigns lose search traffic, and they lose it because nobody maps the old URLs. InceptiCode maps every URL on your Toronto business site first, before anything is designed.

Pricing

What a redesign costs

Redesigns start at C$2,490, same as a new build, because the work is comparable — you are trading content creation for audit and migration. Most land between C$2,490–C$4,990.

E-Commerce Store

Shopify or WooCommerce, set up to actually sell — not just to look finished.

From C$3,990

Most projects: C$5,900–C$8,900+

What the starting package covers

  • Everything in the Business Website package
  • Store build on Shopify or WooCommerce, whichever suits the catalogue
  • Product and collection structure planned for browsing and for search
  • Conversion-focused product pages
  • Payment setup, including Canadian payment methods
  • Shipping rules and rate configuration
  • Canadian tax configuration (GST/HST/PST by province)
  • Responsive storefront tested on phones first
  • E-commerce analytics and conversion tracking
  • Email platform / CRM connection where requested

What moves the price

  • Catalogue size and how product data arrives
  • Custom storefront sections and theme work beyond the base build
  • Subscriptions, bundles, wholesale pricing or B2B rules
  • Migration from an existing store, and whether URLs and history have to be preserved
  • ERP, inventory or accounting integrations
  • Custom app or checkout functionality — always quoted separately

What's included

What a redesign covers

  • A full audit of your existing site: pages, URLs, traffic, what works and what is broken
  • A URL map showing exactly what happens to every existing address
  • 301 redirects implemented for every retired URL — mapped individually, never blanket-redirected
  • Existing content reviewed and kept where it earns traffic, restructured where it does not
  • New site structure planned around how your customers search and decide
  • Custom design that reflects the business you are now, not the one you were when the site was built
  • Responsive rebuild tested on real phones and tablets
  • Lead forms and click-to-call, with spam protection
  • Google Analytics 4 and Search Console connected, with a pre-launch baseline recorded
  • Technical SEO rebuilt: titles, meta descriptions, canonicals, structured data, sitemap
  • Performance work — old sites are usually slow, and slow costs enquiries
  • Migration of your existing hosting or a move to better hosting, in your name
  • Post-launch monitoring for crawl errors and broken links during the settling-in period

If your existing site is very large, or has thousands of URLs, the audit and redirect mapping becomes a larger piece of work and we will price it separately and transparently before starting. We will also tell you honestly if your current site is worth keeping and improving rather than replacing.

How it works

Six steps, and you know the price before step three.

No discovery invoices, no scope creep, no surprise change orders halfway through.

  1. Tell us about the business

A short call or a form. What you do, who buys from you, what you want the website to bring in. No technical questions.

  2. Strategy and scope

InceptiCode comes back with a page-by-page plan and a fixed price. You approve it before anything is designed or built.

  3. Design

The key pages are designed properly, with your content in them rather than a wireframe. Two rounds of revisions are built into the price.

  4. Development

The approved design gets built — responsive, fast, with forms and tracking wired up as part of the work.

  5. Review

A staging link goes to you, and you go through it properly. Content, links, forms, phone numbers. Anything wrong gets fixed before launch.

  6. Launch

InceptiCode handles DNS, hosting and the cutover, submits the sitemap to Google, and confirms tracking is recording. Then we stay reachable.

Why InceptiCode

Why redesigns go wrong, and how we avoid it

We audit before we design

First we list every URL Google currently knows about, which pages earn visits, and which ones quietly 404. Redesigns lose rankings because nobody does this step, not because redesigns are inherently risky.

Redirects are part of the build

Every retired URL gets a 301 to its closest real equivalent — not a blanket redirect to the homepage, which Google treats as a soft 404 and which passes nothing.

Content that ranks is kept

Pages already earning traffic are assets. We normally restructure and tighten them rather than rewriting from scratch, and add new content only where there is a genuine gap.

Old platforms are not a problem

InceptiCode has taken over sites on outdated WordPress themes, on page builders, and on hand-written HTML with no version control at all. The first step is always working out what is really there.

You will be able to see if it worked

Analytics and Search Console are set up before launch so there is a baseline, and enquiries are tracked afterwards. A redesign with no measurement is a decorating exercise.

You own everything, including afterwards

If your current agency holds your domain or hosting, we will help you get it back into your name as part of the project.

FAQ

Redesign questions worth asking any agency

Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?

It can, and that is exactly the risk we manage. Before anything changes we list every URL Google currently knows about, keep the pages that earn traffic, and map every retired URL to a proper 301 redirect. Rankings are lost in redesigns that skip this step, not in redesigns as such.

Can you keep my existing content?

Yes, and usually we should. Content that already ranks is an asset. We normally restructure and tighten it rather than starting over, and write new content only where there is a real gap.

My site is on an old platform. Is that a problem?

No. We have taken over sites built on old WordPress themes, on page builders, and on hand-written HTML with no version control at all. The first step is always an audit of what is there, what is worth keeping, and what is quietly broken.

How much does a website cost in Toronto?

Our business websites start at C$2,490, and most business projects land between C$2,490–C$4,990. Online stores start at C$3,990, with larger stores typically C$5,900–C$8,900+. What moves a project up the range is page count, custom functionality, integrations, whether we write the content, and multilingual requirements. You get a fixed price in writing before any work starts.

How long does a website take?

A straightforward business website is usually three to five weeks from approved scope to launch. Larger sites and online stores typically run six to ten weeks. The single biggest factor is how quickly content and feedback come back from your side — we will tell you the honest timeline for your project before you commit, not an optimistic one.

Do I own the website?

Yes. You own the domain, the hosting account, the website files, the design and the content. Everything is registered in your name, and you get the logins. If you ever decide to work with someone else, you take it all with you and we will help with the handover.

Is hosting included?

Hosting is not included in the build price, and we deliberately keep it in your name rather than reselling it to you. We will recommend a suitable host for your site, set it up, and hand you the account. Typical hosting for a business site runs a few hundred dollars a year, paid directly to the host.

Can I update the site myself?

Yes. We build on platforms you can edit without a developer, and we show you how — text, images, prices, new pages, blog posts. For anything structural you can come back to us, but day-to-day changes should not require an invoice.

Can you migrate my old site?

Yes. We move content, images, product data and URLs, and we redirect the old addresses to the new ones so nothing that Google already knows about turns into a broken link. For online stores we migrate products, collections, customers and order history where the platforms allow it.

What happens after launch?

Launch is not the last conversation. We stay available for the settling-in period, confirm your analytics and Search Console are reporting correctly, and fix anything that turns out to be wrong with the build. Ongoing maintenance and support are available separately if you want them — they are not compulsory.

Send us your current website address.

That is genuinely all we need to start. We will look at what is there, what is ranking, and what a rebuild would actually involve.

  • Put your current site's URL in the project box — it is the most useful thing you can tell us.
  • If you have Google Analytics or Search Console access, mention it. It makes the quote far more accurate.
  • We normally reply within one business day.
