Pricing

What a Shopify project costs

Shopify work starts at C$3,990. A substantial store is typically C$5,900–C$8,900+. Catalogue size, custom sections, migrations and integrations are what move the number.

E-Commerce Store

Shopify or WooCommerce, set up to actually sell — not just to look finished.

From C$3,990

Most projects: C$5,900–C$8,900+

  • Everything in the Business Website package
  • Store build on Shopify or WooCommerce, whichever suits the catalogue
  • Product and collection structure planned for browsing and for search
  • Conversion-focused product pages
  • Payment setup, including Canadian payment methods
  • Shipping rules and rate configuration
  • Canadian tax configuration (GST/HST/PST by province)

What's included

What Shopify work covers

  • Shopify store setup or takeover of an existing store
  • Storefront design that looks like your brand rather than the theme you started from
  • Custom Shopify sections so your team can build and rearrange pages without a developer
  • Theme customisation, or a fully custom theme where the store genuinely needs one
  • Product and collection structure planned for browsing, filtering and search
  • Product page build: variants, options, imagery, availability, shipping information, add-to-cart
  • Payment setup — Shopify Payments, cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, PayPal on request
  • Shipping zones, rates and free-shipping thresholds configured for how you really ship
  • Canadian tax configured by province
  • Migration from WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, BigCommerce or another Shopify store — products, variants, collections, customers and order history
  • URL mapping and 301 redirects so a migration does not cost you search traffic
  • Third-party integrations: email platform, reviews, inventory, accounting, shipping software
  • Store speed work — image handling, app audit, theme code
  • Google Analytics 4 with e-commerce tracking, plus Search Console
  • Handover and training for the people who will run the store day to day
  • Post-launch support while the store settles in

Custom Shopify apps and bespoke checkout functionality are quoted separately, in writing. Your Shopify subscription and payment processing fees are paid by you directly to Shopify — we do not resell or mark them up, and the account stays in your name.

How it works

Six steps, and you know the price before step three.

No discovery invoices, no scope creep, no surprise change orders halfway through.

  1. Tell us about the business

A short call or a form. What you do, who buys from you, what you want the website to bring in. No technical questions.

  2. Strategy and scope

InceptiCode comes back with a page-by-page plan and a fixed price. You approve it before anything is designed or built.

  3. Design

The key pages are designed properly, with your content in them rather than a wireframe. Two rounds of revisions are built into the price.

  4. Development

The approved design gets built — responsive, fast, with forms and tracking wired up as part of the work.

  5. Review

A staging link goes to you, and you go through it properly. Content, links, forms, phone numbers. Anything wrong gets fixed before launch.

  6. Launch

InceptiCode handles DNS, hosting and the cutover, submits the sitemap to Google, and confirms tracking is recording. Then we stay reachable.

Why InceptiCode

How we approach Shopify

We start from what your store has to do

Not from a theme demo. How you ship, how your products vary, what your team has to do every day to fulfil an order. The storefront follows from that.

Custom sections beat a custom theme, usually

A fully custom theme is slower to build, more expensive, and cuts you off from theme updates. Building custom sections on a solid base gets you a distinctive store faster — and we will say when your store genuinely does need the custom build.

Migrations that keep your rankings

The risk in a migration is not the products, it is the URLs. We map every existing product and collection address to its new one with a 301 redirect, so the pages Google already ranks keep working.

App discipline

Every app you install costs you load time, and load time on a store costs you orders. We will tell you when an app you want is going to slow the store down and what the alternative is.

Canadian setup, done right

GST, HST and PST by province. Canadian payment methods. Shipping rates that reflect what it actually costs to send a parcel from the GTA to BC.

You keep the keys

It is your Shopify account, your theme, your data, on your billing. We work inside your store — we do not resell you a subscription or hold the account.

FAQ

Shopify questions we get from Toronto businesses

Do you build custom Shopify themes or customise existing ones?

Both, and the honest answer is that most stores do not need a fully custom theme. Starting from a solid theme and building custom sections gets you a distinctive store faster and cheaper, and keeps you on a theme that receives updates. We will recommend a fully custom build only when the store genuinely needs it.

Can you migrate to Shopify from WooCommerce, Wix or Squarespace?

Yes. Products, variants, collections, customers and order history migrate over, and we map the old URLs to the new ones with 301 redirects so your existing search rankings survive the move.

Do you build custom Shopify apps?

We build custom functionality where an existing app will not do the job, and we quote it separately from the store build so you can see exactly what it costs. Often the better answer is an existing app plus some custom work around it, and we will say so when that is the case.

Will my store be fast?

Store speed is mostly decided by how many apps are installed and how images are handled, not by the theme. We build with that in mind and tell you when an app you want is going to cost you a second of load time — which on a store is a real amount of revenue.

How is Canadian tax handled?

GST, HST and PST are configured by province, so a customer in Ontario is charged 13% HST and a customer in Alberta is charged 5% GST without you doing anything manually. If you sell outside Canada we will set up the rules for that too.

What about payments and shipping?

We set up the payment methods Canadian shoppers expect — cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, plus Shop Pay or PayPal if you want them — and configure shipping rates for the way you actually ship: flat rate, by weight, by region, free over a threshold, or local pickup.

How long does a website take?

A straightforward business website is usually three to five weeks from approved scope to launch. Larger sites and online stores typically run six to ten weeks. The single biggest factor is how quickly content and feedback come back from your side — we will tell you the honest timeline for your project before you commit, not an optimistic one.

Do I own the website?

Yes. You own the domain, the hosting account, the website files, the design and the content. Everything is registered in your name, and you get the logins. If you ever decide to work with someone else, you take it all with you and we will help with the handover.

Can I update the site myself?

Yes. We build on platforms you can edit without a developer, and we show you how — text, images, prices, new pages, blog posts. For anything structural you can come back to us, but day-to-day changes should not require an invoice.

What happens after launch?

Launch is not the last conversation. We stay available for the settling-in period, confirm your analytics and Search Console are reporting correctly, and fix anything that turns out to be wrong with the build. Ongoing maintenance and support are available separately if you want them — they are not compulsory.

New store, redesign, or migration?

Tell us which, roughly how many products, and where you are selling now. That is enough for us to come back with a real scope and a fixed price.

  • Migrating? Send the URL of your current store and we will check what has to be redirected.
  • Already on Shopify? We can work inside your existing store — no rebuild required.
  • We normally reply within one business day.
